Abstract
Identifying and studying surface structures in oil and gas extraction field has always been considered as an important issue. In the recent years, the study of near-surface or shallow structures has significantly increased with the methods based on ambient seismic noise. Monitoring the variations of seismic noise levels provides useful information about the anomalies generated by oil and gas extraction on the ground. Power Spectral Density-Probability Density Function is one of the methods for studying seismic background noise. This method uses the PQLX software. The main advantage of the probability density function of power spectral density is the probabilistic view across a broad spectrum of periods. This allows for long-term assessment of the seismic instrument performance and research on the major sources of ambient seismic noise.
