Dimensionality and distortion analysis of Audio-Magnetotelluric data from Shonbe, SW Zagros

چکیده
Audio-magnetotelluric (AMT) data have been acquired at 19 stations along a profile in the south west of simply folded belt (SFB) of the Zagros Mountain. Dimensionality and distortion analysis of the measured data are challenging procedures to conclude main properties of regional geo-electric structure (ex. its strike direction) and quantify the influence of superficial distorting bodies. We present here the results of dimensionality and distortion analysis obtained by invariants of the impedance tensor as well as the Groom-Bailey mathod. We argued that data represent regional 1D and 2D structures with local galvanic distortion, at most periods. The decomposition of MT impedance tensors reveals approximately period-independent distortion parameters.
