Application of low frequency seismic noises in the identification of geological structures, faults and hydrocarbon reservoirs
Authors
Abstract
Abstract
In this study, the application of low frequency seismic noises in identifying geological structures such as faults, hydrocarbon reservoirs, geothermal and volcanic areas is discussed and the function of these methods in identifying Ahram fault and its results are presented.
Among the common methods in this field, in this study, the method of Microseismic Sounding Method (MSM) has been used. This method is one of the passive seismic methods that studies the structures in question using the low frequency normalized amplitude spectrum of the noise recorded in the profile stations or in three dimensions in relation to a base station. In this study, more than 200 seismic stations perpendicular to the structure of the Ahram fault were taken in the direction of several profiles. is identified. The direction of the Ahram fault was determined in tomograms with high intensity areas and therefore low velocity zones.
