چکیده
On 2020 October 24, at 11:34:15.4 UTC an earthquake occurred in the Avaj area with a magnitude of Mn=5.4. Based on the report of Iranian Seismological Center (IRSC) this event located near the Avaj city with the focal depth of 10 km. So far there are no report of focal mechanism for this event by any seismological agencies. Here using broadband seismic waveform modeling, we report the focal mechanism of this event and 8 other events (ML≥3.5) in the region. Our results show the northeast 81° dipping, NW-striking fault plane (movement by a small dextral strike-slip component) was responsible for the Avaj 2020 main event at centroid depth of 12 km.
